Assessment Centres from Human Factors are an effective way to assess groups of managers or executives for selection or for development purposes. During one, two or three
days, participants are immersed in a highly interactive and intensive work simulation
that will test all aspects of their abilities, styles and capabilities. Simulations
include group decision making and problem solving , presentations, interviews, in-box
simulations and case studies. Many of these simulations can be delivered online.
We offer a range of Assessment Centres to suit your needs. You can use our pre-written
Assessment Centres, or we can work with you to develop a set of exercises that reflect
your organisation. All of our Assessment Centres include clear and well structured observer materials to ensure that administration of the Centre is painless. And
our consultants are always on hand to offer advice and assistance throughout the
process.
King of Clubs - a strategy development simulation of a retail business including
developing a concept, producing and presenting a business plan, implementing the
plan and preparing a three-year forecast.
Acquisition – a strategic acquisition simulation. Participants are asked to advise
the Main Board on potential acquisitions. They are expected to analyse their company’s
strategic position and a target acquisition, develop a business plan and make a
presentation to the Board. Acting as a task force they then endeavour to integrate
the structures and processes of the acquisition with their own company by dealing
with: problems with staff; re-location of the offices; clash of company cultures
and developing a sales strategy.
Balkan Oil – a negotiation simulation of an oil exploration project. Participants
drive the project from the initial stage of obtaining funding from the board through to negotiation of licences for drilling, whilst dealing with problems with contractors
and local rebels.
Costa Rica Project – a market analysis simulation. The participants’ company wants
to increase revenue from its international division. Participants are given information
on Costa Rica and have to identify and analyse opportunities that would contribute
towards this aim by doing a feasibility study, presenting this to their Senior Managers,
choosing the team to carry out the study, implementing and controlling the project.
Mozambique Telecoms – an operational simulation. Participants are given the responsibility
for initiating their company’s move into Mozambique. They need to design a plan
for managing the project, analyse their company’s strategic position, implement
a staff induction programme, and provide solutions to customers’ complaints.
