Assessment Centres Reference Story: Discovering Leaders
We worked with a leading Engineering company; who supply advanced steam
generation technology for the power industry. The company has various
different branches across the U.K which focus their attention on
maintaining and managing their clients. Each branch is headed by a
focused branch manager. The company became concerned that they did
not have enough employees within these branches who were capable of
taking on more senior positions. It was this concern for the individual
progress of their workforce which led them to HFI.
We set up and developed a one day
Assessment centre for the organisation;
which allows us to assess and measure the ability and skills of the employees for
a particular role. We constructed a thorough and in-depth assessment, which included
psychometric tests, 360 degree surveys, group presentations and
strategy surveys.
Through these various different individual and group exercises HFI were able to
identify who had the potential within the company to take on more managerial positions
and also to establish where development was required.
Through the reports we drew up based on the results of the individuals involved
within the Assessment Centre the organisation were then able to see which employees
would be suitable for the role of branch manger.
HFI are providers of bespoke development and simulations centres for executives in
organisations across Europe and North America. We are currently working with the
company on further development centres to enhance the capability of execution and
looking at succession planning.
