Executive Assessment Reference Story: Becoming A Leader
HFI were brought in by a multi-national organisation to
assess one of their Senior Directors. The purpose of our
involvement was to review this individual’s potential within the company structure and to monitor the career progression.
Once we had finished our assessments we
provided the candidate with in-depth feedback. We the set up a coaching
regime with the senior Director based on the results from his assessment. The coaching intervention consisted of 2 half
days with one of our expert coaches. This short, sharp strategy points the individual in the right direction to move
forward and pursue their own development.
From the assessment we established that the director had a strong tendency to not respond quickly enough to performance
issues. These issues tended to be left until it was too late and therefore they became much harder and more stressful
to handle. We came up with different
strategies for the director and we have implemented systematic techniques
and processes to deal with conflict and performances so that they no longer are left to escalate into bigger issues.
Now the senior director handles various problems and issues within the organisation in a positive and constructive manner;
which not only benefits the team but also the individual’s own working environment. It is through the
executive
assessment we provided that we were able to measure the performance of the senior director and therefore work with
him on his developmental needs and develop and enhance his key strengths.
