High Potential Program

Home High Potential Program

The hfi High Potential Program

High-potential (Hi-Po) employees are critical to your organization’s current and future success. They are the key players you want to identify and develop to power your organization and ensure its continued growth.  Managers who are asked to identify people with high potential can only tell you what they see, so they list the high performers. But being a good salesman doesn’t mean you will be a good sales manager. The roles require different skill sets.

The hfi High Potential Program, also know as Hi-Po Program, consists of a number of elements, each providing personal insight and guidance to develop participant’s capabilities and prepare them for future leadership roles. In return they receive:

  • Exposure to new learning opportunities
  • Increased visibility with senior leaders
  • Additional developmental support

We design and deliver high potential programs whilst partnering with your organization to review and establish the key criteria for each tailored Hi-Po project. The focus of your hfi High Potential Program will be on key capabilities such as: Leading people; Influencing skills; Thinking: vision & outlook; Drive: motivation & tenacity; Team work; Risk management; Building Effective Relationships; Decision Making; Workload Management; Living the Values

There is a rigorous entry requirement for your High Potential Program. hfi works with you to design a nomination process for identifying candidates. Nominees will be high performing individuals identified by their line managers but the nomination does not guarantee participation in the High Potential Program. Individuals will have to demonstrate high potential in areas such as strategic thinking and transformation leadership as measured by a series of psychometric assessments.

Once on the program individuals will continue year after year. They will exit the program either because they are promoted out of the management grade eligible for participation, or because they are not able to fulfill their primary job role alongside that of your hfi High Potential Program. In the latter case it may be that they rejoin the program once their circumstances change.

As the High Potential Program program matures, organizations will find that they have a pool of leadership talent at various stages of development, from which they can select to fill their leadership roles as needed.
